Mexico Housing
The Korean American Women’s Association (KAWA) is working in collaboration with the local community on a project to build homes for impoverished families in Mexico who are without shelter.
This initiative not only provides a physical place to live but also supports the restoration and stability of families, helping them raise their children in a safe and nurturing environment.
In Santa Clarita, a Pre-Build event and a Fundraising Garage Sale were held, with the participation of 15 Jr. KAWA members and 30 volunteers.
Since 2016, KAWA has built four homes and provided additional support through medical volunteer services, clothing donations, and food distribution.

Since 2011, our volunteers have made and delivered to the patients and Veteran's Hospital about 400 to 500 lap quilts a year and delivered them to sick patients. This year, we donated 5020 blankets to Melas on Wheels and received a certificate of appreciation and a party for the volunteers.
It would not be possible without the hard work and love of the volunteers.
KAWA provides a thread of charge, and we bring the finished products to out monthly meetings. We meet once a month on the second Tuesday of the month.
twice at Meals on Wheel and the third time at KAWA Hall.
We meet on the second Tuesday of every month from 10 am to 2 pm.
Every month, we deliver customized Korean healthy meals and desserts to terminally ill cancer patients and individuals with limited mobility —
all prepared with love and care.
Volunteers lovingly prepare side dishes and meals for various patients. Young student volunteers also bake healthy breads and desserts, adding a special touch to every delivery. Each meal is served with our heartfelt love and prayers for the recipients' recovery.
We also provide sandwiches to our homeless neighbors — an ongoing volunteer effort by the Korean-American Women's Association.
We deliver not only food, but also love, care, and prayers.
